Description

This is an upgrade kit that includes the necessary brake levers with front shifter, clamp adapter for a braze-on front derailleur and hardware to add a crankset with 2 chainrings to your Brompton. A simple and effective way to increase the gear ratio of your Brompton.


To fully convert your Brompton, you will also need the following parts:

  • A double chainring crankset (recommended chainline of 44 to 49 mm).
  • Depending on your current crankset and the double chainring crankset you are upgrading to, a bottom bracket change may be required.
  • A front derailleur.
  • A chain compatible with the front derailleur of your choice. For Ridea cranksets, we recommend chains (and therefore front derailleurs) of 10, 11 or 12 speeds.
  • Some Brompton bikes may be equipped with rear sprockets that may not be compatible with thinner chains. Please check sprocket compatibility and shifting performance (whether applicable) with the chain width of your choice before upgrading.
